Hi Everyone!
Well, it's been a LONG time since I last wrote, but, we'll, it's the Holiday Season! I just get all crazy about Christmas cookies, and lights, and waiting until last minute to make gifts and cards and tags . . . so I am so sorry that I don't really have much to report right now! I am going to be the featured blogger on QuicKutz blog on December 21st, so stay tuned for that! Also, I'm working on fun and cute Christmas projects/presents and as soon as I'm done I'll post some pictures, so thanks for your patience! Hope everyone is enjoying the Christmas season and spirit!

Sorry for the last minute update, but there is a QuicKutz Sponsored crop at Collective Journey's, Redlands, CA tonight starting at 5 and ending at 11! We will be playing QK Bingo - I've just spent 3 days cutting out 352 shapes! Whoa! And of course, with games comes QK prizes! And, not to spoil the surprise, but possibly some prizes from the Santa's Workshop Release! Ohhhh! Well, I must be off to finish getting ready for tonight, but if you come up to me and mention this Blog you'll get a fun goody! Hope to see you there!

Oh, and check out this make-n-take that we'll be doing during the crop - fun-fun! Not to mention that Amanda made cupcakes - it's her signature treat! So many reasons to pick up the phone and see if there's still spaces open!

Let's Get to the Heart of Pages from the Heart!

Hello All! Happy Friday and almost weekend! This Sunday, November 15th, I will be Pages from the Heart in Monrovia celebrating Kathy's 10th Anniversary. And, I really must say that Kathy's way of celebrating is by giving all her customers great deals! That's her way of saying thanks for being part of her store! So, I posted pictures of the Gingerbread Album that we'll be making, but I just made a small gift card holder from Santa's Workshop Wintergreen that we'll be using also! Look at the pictures, you get the Gingerbread "Joy" album, a cute gift card holder and a treat box from Silhouette for $10! Isn't that crazy? See what I mean about the great deals for the customers! And, for every $10 that you spend on QK you'll get a raffle ticket for QK goodies, and they are GOODies! So, if you come to the QK class on Sunday and you mention that you saw this post I'll give you a goodie just for being such a great supporter of QK! Hope to see you there! And hope you have a beautiful weekend filled with all your favorite things (which means QK, of course!).

Halloween Cutie!

I told myself that I'd never do this, but I just have to share a picture of my Little Guy in his Halloween costume. If any of you have seen Madagascar, I'm sure that you'll remember King Julian of the Lemurs - well, Adam loves to "Move it, Move it", so we decided that he was a perfect little lemur king! Take a look at the pictures, this is unofficial QK business, but he was so adorable I just had to share! Hope you have a "move it, move it" fun filled day!

Upcoming Events

I am getting so excited because I have sooo many fun and exciting events coming up that I hope many of you will visit me at! This Friday, November 6th, I have a QuicKutz Event at Scrappin In the Hills, Anaheim where we will create an "Animal Fair Book", using all the safari animals that QK came out with last year (I think it was last year . . .) and I must boast, because this book was my favorite book that I've ever created! It was so much fun playing with the elephant, lion, leopard (my favorite!), monkey and the Archivers monkey, they became my little friends.

Also, this Sunday, November 8th, I will be at Collective Journey's, Redlands for their Let's Wrap Up Christmas Seminar. This event is super fun, I've gone almost every year with my Mom and we see all the great ideas that the ladies from CJ's come up to help make your Holidays a little more special. I am happy to say that this year I will be there on an official capacity, I'll be doing a Make-n-Take using the new Santa's Workshop release, and, of course, I'll be giving out goodies throughout the day! Please, call and sign up today, you'll be super happy that you did and you'll walk away with a head full of Christmas cheer!

And last, but certainly NOT least, I will at Pages from the Heart, Monrovia on November 15th from 11-1 pm. I am so happy to be participating in this stores Anniversary weekend! Kathy has been wonderful to me and I'm so happy to meet and scrap with her customers! We will be making an 8 page album using Gingerbread from the latest QK release and I hope to have everyone make a card using the new Letterpress from QK - cross your fingers!

Here's the pictures of some of the projects that I'm talking about. I hope to see everyone in the next couple of weeks! Please, take care and have a wonderful day! And, if you can, pull out your QuicKutz and make a little something and then post it on their website, for the first person that does this and notifies me, I'll send you a little QuicKutz goody and brag about it on my blog!

QK Adventures!

I am so sorry and so embarrassed that it's been sooo long since I lost blogged to tell you what's been going on. I've been super busy ambassadoring . . . it's a tough job but someones got to do it! Last Friday I hosted a QK Crop at Scrappin in the Hills in Anaheim, CA - it was a lot of fun! Elaine (the store owner) and I had fun playing with the new, top secret, QK release; I even shared the release with the ladies at the crop - they did have to take a bag of "Pop Secret" popcorn which was our contract that they wouldn't share the secrets, so it was really a win-win for them! We played a QuicKutz version of BINGO which I called DIES, and everyone was a winner! I gave away a TON of 2x2 dies from the Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas releases along with a Haunted Font and a couple of borders. I am super happy to report that we have a couple new QK enthusiasts from the group - who wouldn't be after playing with the QK dies all night?! I made cupcake toppers as the make-n-take for the croppers and Elaine supplied the cupcakes - yummy. I'm posting a picture of some of the ladies which some of their loot!

My next couple of QK events are:
11-5-09 @ Hearts and Crafts, Covina - QK Crop
11-6-09 @ Scrappin in the Hills, Anaheim - A is for Animal Book
11-7-09 @ Collective Journey, Redlands - Lets Wrap Up Christmas Make-n-Take
11-15-09 @ Pages from the Heart, Monrovia - Mini-album class and Letterpress Make-n-Take
11-20-09 @ Collective Journey, Redlands - QK Crop

If you're interested in any of these event's, please contact me or the store for more info. In fact, if you are at my next event, the QK Crop at Hearts and Crafts and you mention this blog I'll give you a goodie! If you mention this blog and you bring a friend I'll give you and your friend a goodie! Hope to see everyone soon! Thanks for sharing my fun!

1st QK Event - Success!!!

Hello Again!
Well, it's Thursday morning and I am so happy to report that my 1st QK Ambassador Event has come and gone, and it was a success! I was at Scrappin' in the Hills, Anaheim, last night and had a great time at their QK Club night! All of the ladies were super nice and friendly, I chatted with all of them about QuicKutz while they were making the "Give Thanks" accordion file mini album. I used the 2x2 Paper Dolls and created a different doll for every person at the Event, then I placed a Doll at every members seat. I then drew a matching doll from my bag and whichever club member had the matching doll got to draw a QK goody from my goody bag! I can't wait to go back and host a QK Sponsored crop on October 23rd! Thanks, Elaine and Cindy for inviting me into your store and letting me meet your customers! It was great!

Hope everyone has a beautiful day!

QuicKutz Club Event at Scrappin' In The Hills

Hello Again!

I want to let everyone know that I will be at Scrappin' in the Hills in Anaheim on Wednesday, October 7th for their QK Club Meeting. I will be doing a Make-n-take that anyone can participate in - you do not have to be part of the QK club - from 6-8 pm. I'm using the Accordion Border die and creating a little "Thankful" album. I will also be using Tattered Angels and QK shapes as masks. I am planning on using the QK new release (super cute!) but my sample doesn't have the new release on it yet . . . you just have to wait a little longer . . . I'll post a pic of it now and then again when I add the super cute, super fun release! I used BoBunny paper (which I LOVE!) and, of course, used the Cookie Cutter "Thanksgiving" die but broke it down so that I spelled out "Give Thanks". I thought this would be cute to put at each guests space at the Thanksgiving dinner table. You could either add pictures from last Thanksgiving or let them take it home and add the pictures from this Thanksgiving. It's very easy and simple to recreate! I hope that you enjoy!

Thanks for reading!

My first Blog on the QK Blog! Yahoo!

I almost feel famous - like in a strange Y-list way, far-far away from A-list. Not that I expect anyone to stop me on the street and say, "Are you Andrea Yokley-Jessup? The QK Ambassador who blogged on Wednesday?" - although I'd be beyond stoked if that did happen! Nor do I expect to see an unflattering picture of me on TMZ - like in my sweats grocery shopping. But, I almost feel like I've had my Coming Out Ball in the Scrapbook Society! But I've realized that since I gave people a link on the QK Blog to check out my own Blog that I must actually blog more frequently than once every 2 weeks! So, let me start now! I'm going to share a couple of projects that I've recently completed - a girly card that I absolutely LOVE! I love the Cloud9 paper, I still love the Heidi Swapp Ghost Shapes - heart and, of course, the QK crown! I just think that this card, all be it super easy, is super cute! Also, I made a Halloween mini-album. It's 6x6 in and on the cover I used the QK Cloud border as a mask and then chalked around the edges and repeated this all over the background paper to give it a spooky look. I also used the QK Graveyard and Bats along with the Crystal Ball and Ghost dies - I LOVE the Crystal Ball - I just think so original and fun!

Hope you like these projects! I'll try to post more soon- you can also check out my QK blog at www.quickutz.com/qk2/!

Hope you all have a beautiful Thursday evening!

Still Ambassadoring

Last Friday I experienced my first "Webinar" with QuicKutz regarding the Ambassador program that they've started. The meeting was supposed to start at 2 pm PST so my Bro-in-Law came over to watch Adam @ 1:45, he helped me figure out what the heck a "Webinar" was so that I didn't feel totally laime and then he left for greener pastures, Sesame Street pastures to be specific, so I could be a very important, technically advanced Ambassador! I watched a nice PowerPoint presentation for about 45 minutes with the lady in the phone repeating in my ear "Please stay on the line. You're webinar will begin shortly." Then, all of a sudden I saw on the IM board from QK "Is anyone out there?" "Can anyone hear us?" Hmmm, that would be a no. So, I felt really bad for Andrea S. from QK who'd been talking for roughly 45 minutes while none of us Ambassadors could hear! So, they had a re-do and started all over - and now I'm even more excited! Seriously, this is going to be great! My plan is to start calling stores this week to start setting up appointments for Demos, Make-in-takes, QK Crops (that would be super fun!) and classes - but the best news for all of you QK addicts is that they're totally down for giving us goodies to give away at our events! I'm trying to think of fun ways to do this - I'm thinking of a QK Bingo . . . my elementary school teacher brain is going to have to dust of the cobwebs and think of some more "icebreakers!". I do know that I have a couple events in the works . . . I'll report those as soon as they're set in stone! More to come! And I'm going to post a pic of a Halloween class that is coming up (a mini-album) where I used a lot of the new QK Halloween dies - I think it's pretty cute but I am biased! Hope everyone is having a lovely day!

Moonwalking

So, I know that Alan and I watched too much news coverage on Micheal Jackson's death - but should my 18 month old be moonwalking?! I don't think so. He's not even of the Micheal Jackson generation, but I have to admit that I have always secretly hoped that Adam would be much cooler then me and so far he's not letting me down! So, Adam and I were in the kitchen and I was making dinner when he started moonwalking - and I don't mean just walking backwards, he was bending his knees at the right times and everything! So, I started moonwalking too (which has to look like the lamest moonwalk EVER!) and he started cracking up and then he'd do it and put me to shame. It's times like these that I wish we had a video camera! So, I went and grabbed my camera and started taking too many pictures and now I'm creating my scrapbook page layout in my head. I'll use the Starry Night border, the Moon from the Haunted House dies but I can't figure out what to do for the boots... dilemmas, dilemmas. Ahhh - and now every time that I look at my son either, "You know I'm bad, I'm bad, you know it!" or "Billy Jean is not my lover, she's just a girl . . ." lyrics pop into my head. So, thank you "Cool Gods" for answering my wish and letting my son be cooler in every way, even at 18 months, than me!

A little About Me

I'm doing a little spin-off of the emails that everyone gets where you have to answer questions about yourself - I just figured that most people are just starting to get to know me so this is the fastest and easiest way to do!

Full Name: Andrea Lee Yokley Jessup

Married? For going on 3 years to my High School sweetheart.

Children? 1 son, Adam

Favorite Food? Chocolate - I'd eat it all day, every day if it had enough nutritional value!

Favorite Color? I'm not sure - it changes depending on what I'm doing. Right now I'd have to say Orange

Animals? None, but in the process of adopting a Tortoise or Turtle

Favorite Season? Fall

Favorite Holiday? I love them all! It's so exciting to see Adam experience each Holiday, last Halloween he was a turtle and he was so freak'n cute! I'm not sure what he's going to be this year . . .

Favorite Drink? Diet Orange Crush or Peach Fresca - Yummy!

Favorite Activities? I love scrapbooking/cardmaking with my family! My Mom, Sis-in-law, Aunt Di, Cousin Katie and Grandma all get together for classes or for a scrapday - although I wish we were able to coordinate better and get together more frequently! I love to spend time with Alan and Adam, whether at Home Depot, the park or the backyard they both have me laughing all the time!

Dream Job? A designer for a craft company, a writer, a personal shopper, a cake decorator, a pie shop owner!

These are all the questions that I can think of for now - if anyone has any questions please post them and I'll answer them! Thanks! Andrea

1st Day as Ambassador Andrea

Ambassador Andrea - it has a lovely ring to it! My mother has already told me that she will not salute me or bow, but maybe she'll sing a different tune after I let her play with all my new QuicKutz products!

I am so excited - I cannot wait to get started doing whatever a QuicKutz Ambassador does! I'm ready to head out to all the different SoCal stores and introduce myself as Ambassador Andrea Jessup (I wonder what that makes my son???). Of couse, Collective Journey's would have to be my first stop since they've helped me become the scrappy scrapper that I am today!

Lets see, maybe I should wait to go to the stores until I'm not sick anymore - a first impression with a nasty cough and a runny nose would not be worthy of a QuicKutz Ambassador!

This is my first Blog - so please be patient as I figure everything out - luckily my husband is an Interent God, so he can guide my way.  Here's a picture of a sample that got me this gig!
